What does Raw and Unfiltered actually mean?
Most grocery store honey is heat pasteurized and ultra filtered, a process that removes beneficial pollen and destroys natural enzymes. Our honey is kept raw and gently strained to remove large natural debris, such as wax pieces, while remaining unfiltered. This careful handling preserves its natural antioxidants, vitamins, and the natural floral flavors unique to each varietal.
Why has my honey turned solid (crystallized)?
Crystallization is the hallmark of real, raw honey! It is a natural process and does not mean the honey has gone bad. In fact, it’s a sign that the honey hasn’t been over-processed.
Does local honey help with seasonal allergies?
Many of our customers use our honey for this reason! Raw honey contains trace amounts of local pollen. Consuming it regularly is often thought to help the body build a natural tolerance to the environmental allergens found in the Arizona desert.
What is the difference between Mesquite and Wildflower honey?
It all depends on where the bees were working!
How should I store my honey?
Honey is best kept at room temperature in a dry place (like your pantry). There is no need to refrigerate it, in fact, refrigeration will make your honey crystallize much faster!
